Many Chinese cities are famed for historic attractions. Findings like the Peking Man of Zhoukoudian in the People’s Republic of China are estimated to date back as far as 400,000 BC.

China, an ancient culture in East Asia, spreads over more than 9.6 million sq km. This means it is one of the largest countries’ that holds the first rank in the populations’ statistic with more than 1.3 billion people living there. At the moment China accounts for 41 sites under the UNESCO World Heritage list where it takes the third place. The sites are listed under cultural, cultural and natural therefore mixed, and natural sites. They sure do play an essential part in popular tourism destinations in China.

Xian is the largest city in the north west of China in Shaanxi Province. It had served as the capital for 13 dynasties. The Terracotta Army a kind of funeral art is one of the world heritage highlights to visit there among many other attractions. The sculptures represent the army of the first Qin emperor that help him guard the empire in his afterlife.
